Fragarak: Convulsion At Mainland Crypts (Day 3 and 4)

So you all saw pictures from Fragarak's first performance at Yangtze River International Music Festival in Zhenjiang. As much fun as these guys had in putting up the show, looking at the pictures I found the atmosphere of the festival to be totally electric (which it was according to Supratim) and totally wished that I was there. The surprising thing is, even though they don't have the whole social media network in their country, the word still spreads and people do turn out for the gigs. Good to know that lives and businesses still run without Facebook!

Now, it got a whole lot better when they traveled down to Shanghai for their second performance, which was at Asia Metal Festival in Shanghai. We only have pictures from the concert this time, but the band totally dig the most populated city in the world.

Here goes... Part II of Convulsion At Mainland Crypts

The hard to catch skyscrapers, in Shanghai

Our boys signing the official gig poster. A customary, and a huge gesture of respect from the organisers!

Chilling out at the venue, probably half wasted already by the looks of it :P

After a satisfying show. Thank you, Shanghai!

Fragarak: Convulsion At Mainland Crypts (Day 1 and 2)

So, we and the guys at Fragarak were all set to give you guys a live experience of their tour on our twitter accounts, but it turns out that China isn't that social media friendly altogether. Yes, no Facebook, no Twitter, no Instagram, no Gmail; hell even our site doesn't run there. All they have there is a shitty version of Google. Imagine what would you do without all this!

Anyways, we did manage to pull out a few pictures from China (thanks to Whatsapp), which we are going to share with you guys with no further delay...

So here goes... Part 1 of Convulsion at Mainland Crypts!

Fragarak's first experience with authentic Oriental food. Now that looks yummy!

We couldn't let the band stay in a hotel next to Yangtze river and not ask a picture of it, could we?

Freewheel Rollin': What went down!

So, after two amazing gigs in Chennai and getting the honour to cover Kolkata's debut crowd funded metal gig, it was high time we covered something in Bangalore. And, the opportunity was knocking at our face - Freewheel Rollin' would be the first gig to be covered by Live: A Gig in Bangalore. Here's what went down during the amazing evening:

So, as a customary thing, we had to put this update first -

And then the mayhem starts. First band - Hard Enough

This was the best cover of the night, hands down!

These guys were just mad!

Them licks, them damn guitar licks!

A little love from our Instagram profile

Next band - Pinch

Inspired by the PJ's from the vocalist, we made a fool out of ourselves :P

The new song sounded epic!

One for the bass :)

The vocal range and the use of the vocal processor!

Instagram Love <3

Next band - The News, playing their comeback gig!

Yes, it was!

They had made a perfect comeback!

Instagram lovey dovey :)

Next band - Stuck In November. Another comeback!

Pimping for the venue and the band with pathetic grammar

And a little something from Instagram :)

Next up - White Mug, releasing their debut EP :)

Andre, The Giant was big. White Mug can be that big too!

Instagram bromie homie, yo!

Next band - All The Fat Children! All of them. Actually only three of them :(

And after this, we had to go for a small dinner break and couldn't update the set. And when we return, this was the scene. Sorry guys :(

The headlining act was next - Solder!

These guys took control of the crowd from the word go. And then the British Tube Distortion guitar solo came!

We all know the Cookie Monster, right?

And Solder were getting everyone grooving! Be it a receding hairline, or receding waistline, age simply didn't matter :D

A little thank you to Sound Awake and The Humming Tree before we got out of the venue hoping to get an auto back to our shelter who won't charge a bomb :(

Lastly, kudos to the organisers for the band selection. A debut gig always gives you the nerves and the guys at Sound Awake pulled it off brilliantly!

Yanni Live in Chennai: What went down

Well, fans had to wait for 17 long years to witness the maestro and they weren't disappointed a tiny bit! We were there doing what we promised to do and here are a few snippets from the gig!

We reach the venue and our pass says...

And, then the long queue..

And, we were inside the venue!

Admiring the diversity in the audience before the show starts..

And, then comes the maestro!

Yanni, being the Godly person he is, brings out a side of himself which we rarely see in musicians these days

The crowd having a gala time. It was expected, right? ;)

And then, we got into quiz mode :P

And fans started pouring in their views..

Yanni showing us that the 17 years was worth the wait, we gave him a little appreciation from our side :)

Yanni shows off his humour ;)

Slayer in Bangalore was crazy! This stands as a testimonial to what the great man did tonight!

And the gig ends in Majestic style!

A personal note from Varun..

And, lastly, it wouldn't have been a good outing for us unless the fans got involved. That's our motto, to make them feel as if they are at the venue :) Here are a few fan tweets to us which we would cherish for some time to come. After all, it's only our second gig :)

And, another lastly, a shout out to all those who helped us spread the word :)
